Pro-Life Dioramas at the Monroe County Airport |

If you got up one morning and discovered a big hole in the sidewalk in front of your house, a hole big enough for people to fall into and not be able to get out again, wouldnt you be concerned? Youd probably rush to the hole to find out if there was somebody stuck down at the bottom that needed help to get out.
The next thing youd probably do would be to put up a big sign that said, "Danger! Big Hole!"
Thats what were trying to do with our advertising at the Monroe County Airport, put up a "danger" sign. There are two dioramas (backlit transparencies), one on either side of the interior of the terminal building. They feature an 8-week fetus, with the wording "Please dont do it. Shes your baby."
Abortion hurts women and it kills their unborn children. The women who turn to post-abortion counseling groups say that they didnt understand the development of the child they aborted and they didnt know that they had real options for help. So they suffer later because there were no warning signs posted at the time they had to make a decision.
A local billboard commented that in abortion there are two victims, one dead and one wounded. But, the newspapers, the TV, and especially the friendly counselors at the abortion centers, all say, "Its nothing. The baby isnt really a baby, its just a blob." Knowledge frequently comes later, much too late.
This is our warning sign. The eight-week human is no blob. She is somebodys daughter and should be protected. Her mother is human, too, and may need help. The people who answer the phone at the national helpline care about both the mother and child.
Dr. Rainer Jonas, the owner of the photo used in the diorama, is quite firm about how his photos are to be used. They may not be used with photos of aborted babies or with abortion slogans or logos, or abortion method displays or descriptions. He says, "So the pictures must be used in a positive way because I believe that peoples thinking and feeling can be changed only by seeing the beauty of all tiny creatures in this world. They must be shown like flowers which stand in blossom. Only this - I believe - will change minds."
These dioramas will remain in place for several months.
